In Calgary, climate dictates that the outdoor field hockey season starts in early May and runs through the summer months, finishing in September, usually before too much snow has had a chance to fly. League games are played at Hawking Field at the university of Calgary on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. This season (2013) our club is fielding three teams.

Indoor (Field) Hockey

The indoor season runs from early October until the end of March. We presently field three teams in the competitive indoor league that plays Friday nights at the Talisman Centre (aka Lindsay Park) through the winter months; one in the first division and two in the second div.

Club members actively support the league's junior development programs by volunteering their time to coach & manage junior teams. This summer there will be leagues for boys and girls in both under 12 and under 16 age groups. If you have a junior player who would like to learn how to play of improve their game, check out the Calgary Junior Field Hockey website to find out what programs they have coming up. Take a look at the same site for opportunities for coaching young players.

New Players

We are always looking to recruit new players. Although we participate in what is officially a men's adult league from the pictures in this webpage you will see that women and younger players are very welcome. The club membership is quite varied with members from all parts of the world as well as Canada. We are also a sociable bunch taking part and organizing a number of events outside the games themselves. Please direct enquiries to Matt.
