The Saracens is a competitive field hockey club located in Calgary, AB. Climate dictates the indoor and outdoor field hockey seasons. We play outdoor hockey between the spring and autumn, and indoor hockey during the winter.

Upcoming Junior Season

The 2024 Spring Season starts in April and runs until the end of June. We will have teams in the U12 and U14 age divisions for boys and girls. If you are interested in playing with us you can register at our Registration Site. Questions? Email Michael. We will be practicing Wednesdays at the Viper's Dome near McMahon Stadium. Games will be on Sundays, at U of C.

New Players

We are always looking to recruit new players! Although we participate in what is officially a men's adult league, women and younger players (14+) are also welcome.

The club membership is quite varied, with members from all parts of the world, as well as Canada. We are also a sociable bunch, taking part in and organizing a number of social events in addition to the hockey games.

If you are interested in joining us, please direct inquiries to saracensfhc@gmail.com

Note that each player on our team lists must pay the FHA/FHC fee. If you paid this fee elsewhere then you do not need to pay this fee. You can pay this fee and input your information through the FHA website.

Treasurer David would love to take your money

Outdoor Season

League games all take place at Hawking Field at the University of Calgary.

We currently field two teams in the competitive outdoor league.

Indoor Season

All league games are played at the Repsol Centre (aka Talisman Centre, aka Lindsay Park).

In the current indoor season we are fielding three teams, one in division 1 and two in division 2.

Club members actively support the league's junior development programs by volunteering their time to coach and manage junior teams. This Spring there will be leagues for boys and girls aged 7 to 15.

If you have a junior player who would like to learn how to play field hockey or, improve their game, please refer to the Calgary Junior Field Hockey website to find out what programs they have coming up. There is also information there about opportunities for coaching young players.

Check the news page for big announcements, they won't get bumped off like they do on the twitter feed.
